Space Station Tracker

For people who are in love with astronomy and want to learn about all things space, the international space station (ISS) has developed the ISS tracker that gives people the opportunity to follow the ISS as she orbits around the world. This is a free online (live) project that involved 16 nations in the construction and development of this project.

When Was The Space Tracker Invented?

The space tracker project started in 1998 and has been permanently manned since 2000. The goal was to build a permanently manned space station for the research and development of the universe. On completion, the wingspan was 109m, length 74m, and depth 45m, and has a room area of 1.200m³. The space station tracker weighs 450 tons.

It has an average orbit height of 400 km and a tilt degree of 51.6°. It has a circulating time of ca.90 min with a speed calculating 28 000 km/h with a speed per sec calculating 7.6 km/s. The space station has electrical power that has a consumption of 110kW and has a payload share of 46kW.

How To Spot The ISS From Home

Another benefit of the space station tracker is that it is possible to see it with your own eyes no matter where you are in the world. All you have to do is check the position of the space station on the ISS tracker and when the ISS comes across your location.
